CONTRA-INDICATIONS
Waxing
• It is important for you to remember to take extra care of the waxed area, especially within the first 24 hours. When a large number of hairs have been removed the area will be vulnerable, and legs for example can easily pick up an infection if not cared for.
• Please ensure your hair growth is at least 5-7mm in length prior to waxing. You will be asked to reschedule your appointment if your hair is too short.
• Avoid sunbathing, sun bed treatments, swimming, and very hot baths for 48 hours, as the waxed areas will be extra sensitive to heat.
• Avoid friction from nylon material or tight clothing.
• Avoid using perfumed body lotions or creams. We recommend that you use our soothing antiseptic after wax lotion daily for three or four days after treatment to minimize any risk. Always wash your hands before applying the lotion. If you experience persistent redness or discomfort consult your doctor.
Holistic Treatments
• Drink plenty of water or herbal tea, as you may feel thirsty as the body releases toxins and rebalance its systems.
• Eat a light meal, which is healthy and balanced. Avoid rich and spicy foods.
• Avoid any alcoholic drinks, tea or coffee (caffeine)
• Avoid using any other essential oils if you have had an aromatherapy treatment
• You may feel tired and ache after treatment so relax and take it easy
• Do not have any heat treatments before or after aromatherapy
• You may have bad breath and a bad taste after treatment
• You may notice you sweat more after the treatment
• Try not to smoke after holistic treatments and if possible aim to give up smoking
• We do not recommend aromatherapy treatments if you are within the first three months of pregnancy.
• To gain maximum benefits from essential and aromatherapy oils, we suggest you avoid showering and swimming for 4-6 hours after treatments using these and even leave the oils on overnight if you can.
Each essential oil has an effect on the body and the mind and they are chosen and blended to suit the individual. The oils encourage the body to eliminate toxins and over a period of time stimulate the body’s natural healing processes, and give a feeling of wellbeing.
Fake Bake Tanning Treatment
Remember to do the following before your treatment:
• If you have sensitive skin or any concerns- obtain a patch test
• Exfoliate and moisturise days before
• Stop using other self tanning products 1 week before
• Remove unwanted hair at least 24 hours before (waxing is advised)
• On the day do not wear too much make up, deodorant, perfume, body oils/lotions
• Wear or take with you loose dark clothing, old, dark underwear, sandals or flip flops
Skin Sensitivity
If you suffer from skin sensitivity, severe contact eczema, dermatitis or psoriasis we may ask you to take a patch test prior to any skin treatments.
Pedicures/Reflexology
We do not recommend pedicures or reflexology if you suffer from athletes foot, verrucae or fungal infections.
