Why Refer?

Patients sometimes require treatment that falls outside the remit of general dental practice. Appropriate, timely referral demonstrates a high standard of care, and reflects your duty of care, to your patient. Current GDC guidelines (Standards for Professionals Paragraph 1.3) state that ‘a dentist should work within their knowledge, competence, and physical ability and patients should be referred for second opinions and advice at the patient’s request or for treatment when necessary’. How to Refer

We are able to accept referrals by post, phone fax or email. You will find pro-formas in your referral pack, along with pre- addressed, reply envelopes for your convenience. Please call the practice should you require further supplies. Our dentists are happy to provide advice, guidance or second opinions where requested. Referring colleagues are encouraged to accompany their patients for consultations or treatment.
